Tucson Audubon Society. 2011. Finding Birds in Southeast Arizona. 8th ed. Tucson Audubon Society, Tucson. Anyone with an interest in birding southeast Arizona should own this book. In addition to the excellent bird-finding information, it also has species accounts for every avian species occurring in southeast Arizona and highly accurate bar-graphs.

Taylor, R. 2005. A Birder’s Guide to Southeastern Arizona. American Birding Association, Colorado Springs. A must-have for all visiting and resident birders. Great bird-finding content, species accounts for specialties, and bar-graphs.

Gilmore, V. 2003. Birding Sedona and the Verde Valley. 3rd ed. Northern Arizona Audubon Society, Sedona. This spiral-bound book contains a species checklist with notes on distribution and bird-finding content.

Jacobs, B. 1986. Birding on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. Jacobs Publishing Co., Sycamore, Missouri. This text supplies interesting information on this under-birded area.

Rosenberg, K., et al. 1991. Birds of the Lower Colorado River Valley. University of Arizona Press, Tucson. Includes very detailed species accounts, bar graphs and bird-finding information. Becoming slightly dated, but it is a fantastic resource for the region.

Monson, G., and A. Phillips. 1981. Annotated Checklist of the Birds of Arizona. 2nd ed. University of Arizona Press, Tucson. This is not just a checklist. It contains a wealth of information on Arizona birds. While some information is dated, it is still a must-have reference for avid Arizona birders.
