Booking a tour with Adventure Birding: the finer details
- We plan day trips for you and your group. Tell us what you want to see, and we'll plan the day around it!
- Don't have anything particular in mind? We can plan a general day to sample Arizona's high biodiversity year-round.
- Upon request and with enough advance notice, we can provide quotes for all-inclusive private tours (where we plan your itinerary and make all arrangements for lodging, meals, vehicle rental, guiding, etc).
- Large group tours require more planning and are priced accordingly; we are happy to provide a free quote.
- Published rates cover guiding fees only. All other expenses remain your responsibility, including your meals, lodging, etc. (Except all-inclusive tours.)
- A $50.00 deposit is required for each trip. This deposit becomes non-refundable two weeks from your scheduled tour date. If you need to reschedule, the deposit will be applied to the new date. Payment in full is due prior to beginning the trip.
- We currently accept payment only by cash, check, or money order. (It is not advisable to send cash in the mail.)
- Please note that we are only able to use our personal vehicles when they are available! We are happy to do the driving in your vehicle; when renting a vehicle, your guide can be listed as an "additional driver." Mileage surcharge for using our vehicles: $0.40/mi (4WD pickup truck or SUV).
- Our personal high clearance vehicles are primarily reserved for travel to California Gulch and similar 4WD roads, have extremely limited seating, and may not be available at all times. Please inquire with us first.
- If for some reason you will not already be renting a vehicle during your stay in Arizona, please let us know well in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
- If our appointed meeting place is distant, the above mileage surcharge may also apply to the round-trip distance in order to cover fuel and maintenance costs. In these cases, we may also need to include some driving time in the equation. These details can be confirmed upon booking.
- We do offer ethically guided searches for owls and nightjars ("nocturnal birding"). For those already on a full day tour, this is covered by the additional "Hourly rate after 10 hours." For those not on a full day tour, custom "owling-only" trips may be available on a limited basis; inquire for details.
- Rates subject to change without notice.
- Please feel free to contact us for any additional details.
